Vendor phone number display formatting bug

When a 10-digit phone number is entered for a vendor (e.g., 7062833638), the vendor screen prepends a "1" and applies a 10-digit mask, resulting in the last digit being truncated (e.g., (170)628-3363). The number displays correctly in the edit screen. This is a UI display issue. I want the vendor screen to display the phone number exactly as entered or correctly formatted without adding extra digits.
