Auto Generated Date Field Appends Deleted Text

Auto generated dates entered with deceased info won’t fully delete.

Both dates were generated and inserted as ##/##/#### with a dash between them. I changed the birth date to use abbreviated month, numeric date, and 4 digit numeric year. Doing the same thing to the death date (without closing the “edit textbox” results in the above-mentioned all-numeric format being re-appended to the end of the text, over and over again. The only way to avoid this seems to be accomplished by adding a new textbox and retyping the text manually.
